Guidelines for dogs at Lake Starnberg
To ensure your stay with your four-legged friend is relaxing, we would like to inform you transparently about the local regulations:
- ·Swimming season (from May to September): During this period, dogs are prohibited from swimming at most official bathing areas on Lake Starnberg. Please observe the local signs.
- Off-season (approx. mid-September to early May): During this period, dogs are allowed at many bathing spots, e.g. in Percha, Ambach, Possenhofen or Tutzing.
- Alternatives to the lake: Designated off-leash areas and natural areas offer ample space for playing and cooling off, even in summer.
- Summer tip: You can reach Leoni on foot via the castle park (dogs must be kept on a leash). There are smaller coves there where dogs are allowed in the water even during the warmer months.
- Leash requirement:
Dogs must be kept on a leash, especially along the waterfront promenade and in heavily frequented areas.
